I was reading one of Emily's posts (from Beauty Broadcast) earlier this morning and came across my tag which I thought would be really fun to do because I LOVE doing tags! I also thought this is a really good way of getting to know people.

Now onto the tag!
I'll try and add pictures throughout because otherwise this post will look very text heavy...

 

 

1. Is your hair naturally curly or straight?

In between, which is annoying. Some of it is straight on top but then  it goes wavy/curly underneath. It's quite irritating really I wish it would choose one and stick to it!

 

 I like to curl my hair a lot but it tends to go into that annoying "in between" stage between straight and curly most of the time.

 

2. Do you dye it yourself or go to a salon?

 I dye mine myself although I dye it very close to my natural colour anyway. I've never gone to a salon to have it done because I can do it myself at home for less time and less money! :)

 

3. Do you wear the same style everyday, or do you change it?

Pretty much the same style generally...occasionally I'll change it and curl my hair or put it up but I don't tend to do a lot with my hair. It's pretty long (down to the bottom of my ribs I'd say) and so that tends to be enough of a "style" in itself! :) I never straighten my hair because it's fine and so it falls quite flat.

 

4. Do you do your own mani/pedi or go to a salon?

 I do my own nails, I've never gone to a salon to get them done I'd feel weird with someone else doing my nails!

 

 

5. How often do you change your nail polish?

 All the time..the longest my nail polish will be on is about 3/4 days. I couldn't wear it to school so I didn't have it on most of the time so in the school holidays and weekends I go crazy and change it up all the time!

 

6. Do you polish your toes in the winter or just the summer?

 All year round! For some reason it lasts ages on my toes so I tend to paint them and just leave it until I get bored of the colour or it chips/starts to grow out.

 

7. How long does it take for you to put on makeup?

 

It depends...on a school day about 10 minutes. On a weekend or when I'm doing a full face of makeup for an occasion it can take around an hour.

 

8. What do you do first? Face or eyes?

 Face! I know it makes sense to do eyes first because of fall out but because I have under eye veins I need a lot of concealing around my eyes and that tends to get mucked up when I do shadow first.

 

9. Do you collect makeup or just buy what you need when you need it?

 Both...I do run out of things and go out to buy what I need but I know that there is no way on earth I "need" as many concealers or eye shadows as I have. I definitely collect it too!

 

10. How often do you wear false eyelashes?

 Never. I've actually never in my life put on false lashes. Too fiddly and I suppose I'm lucky because my lashes are generally a pretty good length and thickness.

 

11. Do you do a full face of makeup everyday?

No,  I wear a full face on the weekends or for an occasion. During the week it's usually concealer, mascara and maybe a bit of liner.

 

12. Do you wear makeup when you're home alone or with family?

Of course! It's fun for me to put makeup on and try out different looks so I'll put on makeup even when I know I'm going to be sat at home alone!

 

13. Will you leave the house without makeup?

Yes...although it depends where I'm going.

I wouldn't go to school with nothing on for example, but I'd be happy to go to the shops with no makeup on because the chances of me running into someone I know are slim.

I'm happy for strangers to see me without makeup but not happy for people I know to see me!

 

14. How many high-end products do you have?

 I'd say at the moment about 35% of my makeup collection is "high end". I have quite a few high end palettes, concealers and shadows but generally I don't have a tonne of high end products because I feel that unless it's something unique you can get the same thing in the drugstore.

There are things I'm willing to pay more for, however like shadows and concealers.

 

15. Do you plan your OOTD every night or decide when you're getting dressed?

 Decide when I'm getting dressed. I'm not hugely into fashion so normally I don't think about it until I get up in the morning.

 

16. How often do you change your handbag?

 Pretty much never. At school I have a bag which I generally change every year. I also have a bag which I take out with me although it feels strange to call it a "handbag" because it's not really. It's pretty cool though because it's a Marc B black quilted purse with a long chain and really cool studs going round the outside.

 

17. What time do you wake up and go to sleep?

 Hm...on a weekend/holiday I end up going to bed anywhere from 11pm to 1 or even 2 in the morning. I'm kind of nocturnal. Then I'll wake up anywhere from 8am to 11am. I'm a pretty light sleeper though and normally quite an early waker so sometimes even after I've gone to bed late I'm up at 8.

On school days I'm usually in bed at 10/10:30 and awake at 7.

 

18. How often or when do you workout?

This made me laugh out loud :)

I don't ever go to the gym to work out at all. My main exercise is going for really long walks for about an hour or two at a time. Providing I walk at a fast pace this is my "workout". I sometimes do things like situps too occasionally.

 

 

19. Left handed or right handed?

 Right, although I'm pretty good at writing with my left hand too!

 

20. How tall are you?

I'd say around 5, 2....I'm fairly short.

 

21. Do you speak any foreign languages?

 I know a fair bit of French.. I can read/translate French ok but I'm not as good at actually speaking it.

 

22. How many pets do you have?

 12?

we seem to have a bit of a habit of collecting various animals...our house often looks a bit like a farm. At one point we had around 20 + pets when I was a kid. Now we've got 4 tortoises, 4 guinea pigs, a rabbit, 2 cats and a dog.

And I love them all :)

 

 This is my three-legged cat. He's one of my favourite creatures in the whole world!

 

 

23. How often are you on Blogger?

 Most days at some point although I like writing posts all in one go and the scheduling them for later.

 

24. Do you read comments posted on blogs?

 Not necessarily posted on other peoples blogs so often but I definitely read every comment posted on mine. I do occasionally scroll through comments on other blogs if it's a topic I find particularly interesting.

 

25. Do you keep a list of products to try as you see other posts?

 Yes, I have a mental list and sometimes I write them down on my phone too so that I remember them.

26. How did you come up
 with your blog name?

 Originally it was "libbylovesmakeup" but I decided that was a little too close to various other blogs/youtube channels.

Because I tend to wear makeup looks that are bright/colourful/using too much shimmery shadows I came up with MissFitMakeup instead. :)

 

27. What kind of camera do you use for your photographs?

 Usually my iphone. I have a camera in my wardrobe that I need some sort of memory card for and I really need to actually get it up and working...

 

28. How often do you clean your house?

 Hm...well I keep my room generally tidy so I clean that every couple of weeks or so.

I don't ever clean the whole house but do little bits here and there instead.

 

29. What's your favorite color?

 Blue!! It's been my favourite colour since I was a kid. I love a really gorgeous bright blue.

 

30. Do you swear?

 Yes. Not as much as some teenagers do but I generally will swear at least once a day. I tend to reserve swearing a bit though because otherwise it has less of an effect. I swear the most when I've stubbed a toe or something. :P

 

31. What are you doing with the rest of your day?

Very little sadly. It's raining here (what a surprise...) and I haven't got any plans for today. Although I am excited because I'll be going camping with friends quite soon so that thought cheers me up!

"Would You Rather..." Makeup Tag!

I was browsing through other beauty blogs recently and came across a tag that is quite old, but nevertheless I decided it would be pretty fun to do! :)
This is the "Would you rather...?" tag and I thought it would be slightly different from some of my other posts but also maybe help people find out more about my preferences
makeup wise :)

 

1.) Would you rather lose all of your mascaras, eyeliners, lipsticks, and lip glosses or lose all of your palettes and eye shadows?

 

I'd probably rather loose palettes and eye shadows because you can't do much without things like mascara and eyeliner! But I'd be miserable to see them go as I LOVE eye shadows!

 

 2.) Would you rather chop off all your hair or never be able to cut it again?

 

Never be able to cut it again. Right now my hair is pretty long (I'm trying to grow it down to my waist, at the moment it is down to my stomach) and I'd HATE to cut it all off as I love hiding behind my hair when I'm feeling shy:)

 

 3.) Would you rather have a coral cheek or a pink cheek?

 

To be honest as I'm ridiculously fair skinned I don't tend to wear a lot on my cheeks, but when I do it is usually a pale pink colour so I guess I'd have to say pink!

 

 4.) If you had $1000 to spend, would you rather buy clothes or makeup?

 

Hm...tricky. I guess clothes if I had to choose now (going through one of those phases where I hate my entire wardrobe...) but I think if you asked me that in a week my answer could be completely different!

 5.) Would you rather apply lipstick as eyeliner, or eyeliner as lipstick?

 

Probably eyeliner as lipstick...that could create quite a cool goth look and it would make it funny to see people's reactions on the street....it does you no harm to look a little foolish from time to time!

 6.) Would you rather only shop at MAC or Sephora?

 

As I live in the UK we don't have Sephora, but I'm guessing it probably would have more choice than MAC so I'd have to say Sephora :)

 7.) Would you rather only use one eyeshadow color or one lip color for the rest of your life?

 

One lip colour. I wouldn't mind that too much as I tend to gravitate towards the same nude/pink lip colours anyway! I love eye shadows and would get incredibly bored just wearing one a day!

 8.) Would you rather wear winter clothes in summer or summer clothes in winter?

 

I think I'd rather wear summer clothes in the winter...it would be cold...but maybe I could make winter a little cheerier if I was wearing bright, summery clothes!

 

 9.) Would you rather have dark nails or bright nails all year round?

 

Bright! I normally wear bright nails anyway, regardless of the season!

 10.) Would you rather give up your favorite lip product or your favorite eye product?

 

I'd rather give up my favourite lip product. I tend to focus on my eyes more than anything else and I don't tend to do a huge amount of different lip looks anyway.

 11.) Would you rather only be able to wear your hair in a ponytail or a messy bun?

 

...Maybe messy bun? I'd get bored of a ponytail faster!  I do tend to wear ponytails and messy buns quite a lot anyway :)

 

 12.) Would your rather never be able to paint your nails again or never use lipgloss?

 

I'd rather never wear lipgloss. I could always use lip balm! I love painting my nails and doing different designs and I think you can make your nails look so much more interesting than you can make your lips!

 13.) Would you rather shave your eyebrows and have none at all or sharpie them in everyday?

 

..This is hard :P I have no idea. I guess I'd rather have sharpie eyebrows than none...but both of these options sound pretty horrific to me!

 14.) Would you rather live without makeup or nail polish?

 

I guess nail polish. Although I have more nail polishes than I can shake a stick at I do love makeup and I think it is more versatile...I think I'd miss makeup more!

I Heart Drugstore Makeup Tag!

Hi :)
I have a tag post for you today and this time I got the idea from a  video that I literally just watched!

I watched the "I Heart Drugstore Makeup" tag video from emilynoel83 - a youtuber I actually love! I'd highly recommend you checking out her videos, I find them very informative and I trust her opinion more than anyone else's!

So lets get on with it :)

1. What is your favourite drugstore makeup brand overall?

 

Although here in the UK I can't get E.L.F products in stores, I still would consider them to be a "drugstore" brand as they have great budget prices. I have a lot of E.L.F in my makeup collection and I have so many products that I adore and its great to know I didn't pay a fortune for them!

I also am obsessed with Sleek, which is a UK based brand but you can get it online also.

They are slightly more expensive than E.L.F but they have the most beautiful eye shadows!

2. What are your favourite face, cheek and lip products?

 

At the moment my favourite face product is my Hard Candy Glamouflage concealer. Again, I cant get this in stores in the UK but it is still a drugstore brand (I think this is $6 in the US) and I use it pretty much everyday!

I'm also getting a lot of use out of my Maybelline Dream Matte Mousse Foundation as it blends in so well and is great for when you are in a rush as it mattifies so well I don't even need powder on top of this.

 

Cheek product would have to go to E.L.F. I recently reviewed the All Over Colour Stick in Spotlight (which you can read HERE) and I absolutely love it. Gives such a beautiful glow to the cheeks.

 

I'm not a huge lip product person but I do love my Rimmel London Moisture Renew lipstick in "Nude Delight" - definitely my favourite lipstick!

3. Least favourite product?

 

I think this would have to go to my Accessorize face primer...I really didn't like it.

Normally I love Accessorize products but this had badly thought out packaging, was messy to use and generally wasn't worth buying for the price.

4. What is the best makeup bargain?

 

I think I'd have to say the eye shadows from MUA.

Most of the MUA line (including the shadows) is £1 and for that you get 2g of gorgeousness.

I've currently got 7 and I haven't found one that I don't love.

 

5. What is your favourite underdog product? (Something you love that often gets overlooked?)

 

I've used the Bourjois Khol & Contour Eyeliner for ages now and even though now I've tried out many others I always go back to this one. I find that it looks very dark and potent on the lashline and it's not overly creamy but not overly dry either, making it the liner that lasts the best on my waterlines. I think it's only about £5 too and I'm currently on my second one. :)

6. A drugstore product that is overpriced?

 

Um...I don't have much of an answer for this. The only thing that I can think of is the Revlon ColorStay Foundation which is about £12/£13 pounds here. I love this foundation so I'm happy to pay for it but it still feels ever so slightly steep for a drugstore foundation.

7. Show your best drugstore dupe(s)!!

 

I don't have a huge amount to say here as most of the time I don't buy many high end products very often.

Generally, I've found that the Sleek eye shadows do tend to compete with the quality of many other high end shadows like MAC and Urban Decay.

 

I've found Sleek dupes for the Too Faced Natural At Night Palette too:

 

Sleek "Taupe" = A less crumbly/messy version of Too Faced "Night Light"

Sleek "Moss" = Too Faced "Moonstone"

Sleek "Honeycomb" = Too Faced "Spotlight"

Sleek "Conker" = Too Faced "Eclipse"

 

I generally feel that Sleek's shadows are incredible quality and rival higher end brands.

8. Drugstore product that isn't worth the hype?

 

E.L.F nail polishes.

I dislike these - A LOT.

I've bought 3 in the past on separate occasions because I thought that maybe I just got duds or maybe I was being too harsh but I hate all of them.

It feels like I'm painting plastic on my nails. I'm definitely not a fussy person when it comes to nail polishes, far from it, but these feel plastic-y, cheap and they take forever to dry so they end up looking smudged too. They are far too thick and gloopy and it's a shame because I LOVE so many E.L.F products.

 

I'll stick to my Collection 2000 Hot Looks Fast Dry nail polishes...only £1.79 and amazing quality!

 

So there you go! There is my "I heart drugstore makeup" tag...and I have to say I genuinely do love drugstore makeup! Why pay an arm and a leg for something when you can get it for less? :)
