*REVIEW* NYX Blush in Natural

Hi!

Quite a while ago I made a purchase from the NYX website (www.nyxcosmetics.co.uk/) and I only just realised that I never actually reviewed this item! If you'd like to see that haul you can view it HERE and as far as I can tell I think I've done reviews for all the other items I purchased. :)

This costs £6 from the website and they have 25 shades!
I chose the shade Natural because having blonde hair, blue eyes and fair skin its harder for me to get away with strong blush colours and so I generally tend to stick to a rather muted blush look if at all.

The shade is a light baby pink with a slight bit of shimmer in it - it's looking a lot brighter in the photo than in real life!
The packaging is also nice and sturdy and the shape makes it easy when it comes to saving space in your makeup collection. :)

Here's a swatch:

Obviously I wouldn't apply the blush this heavily! :P

Generally I think this is a really pretty colour especially for those with fair skin.
As you can see its very well pigmented but not so pigmented that it makes it difficult to wear...I personally don't like hyper-pigmented blushes as I'd never wear colour on my cheeks that strongly!

I usually just tap my brush into this and then tap off the excess and apply it. The colour this way is very buildable and it's hard to over apply.

I'm really happy with this blush -especially for the price! I've been reaching for it quite often recently and it gives a lovely flushed appearance to the cheeks.

Thanks for reading!
Have you tried the NYX blushes yet?

NYX Cosmetics Haul!

Hi!
A couple of days ago I ordered a couple of things from the NYX UK website (www.nyxcosmetics.co.uk/) and I thought I'd show them to you in a haul post!

I love the NYX tape around this little package...is it just me or is it REALLY exciting getting a packaging in the mail? Even though I know what is in it I still find it so fun opening packages!

I got 4 eyeshadows, 1 lipgloss and 1 blush.

Here's a closer look! :)

This is a lip gloss I got called True Star. I tried it on today and it looks a little frosty on the lips to begin with but after it's been on the lips a while it looks really nice and it smells nice too! :)

I got a blush in Natural as I saw this and just KNEW it was my kind of colour for a blush. I have very pale skin and this kind of baby doll pink colour works so well for me generally.

This eyeshadow is in the shade Asphalt - it's a very interesting copper colour with some gold specks in it! :)

This shade is called Fahrenheit and its a lovely pink shade...when I saw it I was immediately reminded of MAC's colour Expensive Pink and I think this would be a pretty close dupe but I can't swatch them side by side because I don't actually HAVE the colour Expensive Pink...
Nevertheless this is a very pretty colour!

Last but not least this is the shade Eucalyptus...it looks a lot more grey on the camera than in real life!
This is a shimmery light taupe colour which does have done grey tones.
I've used it a couple of times and it works well on the inner corner and also for blending purposes :)

So there you have it!
There's my NYX cosmetics haul, I'm so excited to try everything out more and reviews will be coming soon!

Thanks so much for reading!

*REVIEW* NB Mineral Blush in Pink Petal

Hi!

My review today is for the Pink Petal mineral blush by NB (Naturale Beauty) which I got in a set from Tk Maxx with a mineral "booster" and a foundation.

Unfortunately I can't find much information about this online but I think the whole kit that I got was around £12.

As you can see this is a really pretty peachy pink colour that I really have come to love.
The pigmentation is really good; for some reason I have a deep seated misconception in my brain that things that are loose powders tend to not be as pigmented as pressed powders but I was really impressed with this.

Another thing I noticed with this was the texture was really soft and smooth, not chalky at all so I really liked this.

For me this works well as a quick flush of colour because the peachy pink colour works well with my skin tone.

I just wish that this didn't actually come as a loose powder as they tend to be really messy containers.
Mine is hard to apply because there is permanently a load of product on top of the sifter jar and it just tends to explode everywhere. I'd prefer it if this was pressed.

However other than a few packaging issues I'm pretty impressed with this!

Have you ever heard of Naturale Beauty or tried any of their products before?
Thanks so much for reading!

*REVIEW* E.L.F Blush & Bronzer Duo in St Lucia

Hi!

Finally after my massive E.L.F haul I did a while ago I've gotten to the last review of every product I bought in that haul...
The last review I have is the Studio Blush & Bronzer Duo in St Lucia.

This costs £3.75 from www.eyeslipsface.co.uk and comes in a couple of other colours but they were all pretty bright...this seemed to be the most toned down of all of the lot! :)

I love the sleek packaging of this...it just looks really great and is also great for storage as you can store it sideways and it takes up so little space.
This also comes with a mirror which is handy - its a good mirror too!

This says:

"Create a healthy and natural glow year-round"

"The blush highlights the cheeks to add a flush of colour"

"The bronzer accents and contours cheekbones for a beautiful definition"

These are very heavily switched, obviously you wouldn't wear these colours as bright as this...

Both the blush and the bronzer are VERY pigmented!

The blush is a beautiful peachy colour, the swatch doesn't show it too well but there is a beautiful golden shimmer too in this.
I love dusting this on my cheeks even though I have to use it lightly because I'm very fair skinned so I can't pull off a lot of colour on my cheeks.
Nevertheless I've used this quite a lot! I love the golden shimmer in it.

The bronzer is even more pigmented than the blush...while that is a good thing it makes it hard for me personally to use it because the bronzer is too deep for me as it is, couple that with the intense pigmentation it makes it hard for me to use this bronzer.
I don't tend to wear a lot of bronzer anyway (because I'm so fair skinned) but if I do use this I have to apply it VERY lightly and really blend it in to avoid looking muddy.
Because it's hard to get it looking natural on me, I don't tend to use the bronzer side of this that often.
The bronzer has a very slight amount of golden shimmer in it but it is very subtle, it even looks matte at first glance. I like it, it's just too deep for my skin tone.

Overall I do like this and it gets good use, but I definitely prefer the blush!
I'd love it if E.L.F put out some slightly more toned down versions of these duos as the only ones they have are fairly bright. Maybe I'll look more into the single studio blushes as they look like they have slightly more subtle colours!

So although I don't use the bronzer too much I still like this a lot, the blush is really pretty!
If you had a slightly deeper skin tone than mine then I'm sure you'd love it.

Thanks for reading!

*REVIEW* - E.L.F All Over Colour Stick in Lilac Petal

Hello again ;)

I have another review for you...I'm on a roll...two reviews in one night :)
This review is for the E.L.F All Over Colour (or color for our American friends :) ) Stick, and the shade that I have is Lilac Petal.

E.L.F says: "3 in 1 colour for your eyes, lips, and or face! Get the colour that illuminates for a healthy glow, and instantly soothes and conditions the skin for fresh and natural colour all day long."

Oops. That didn't go quite as planned...

Take two :) That's slightly better....

PRICE & AVAILABILITY: You can get these pretty easily at www.eyeslipsface.co.uk
and they only retail for £1.50! :) There are 6 colours at the moment. I got mine through a mystery bag that was in aid of a charity for ovarian cancer, and I'm glad I recieved this because honestly I think left to my own devices it wouldn't be something I would pick out! For me orders from E.L.F generally come in about 3-5 working days.

PIGMENTATION: This has pretty good colour payoff. The shade is a pretty, shimmery, dusky lilac, and something I've found and loved about this is the way the shimmer adds a highlight to your cheekbones.

TEXTURE: The texture of this is fairly creamy, but boderlining on greasy for me. I have dry skin, so this doesn't affect me too much, but if you had oily skin you may find issues with it sliding off. It never sets fully, though it does seem to set a little bit after it's been on your cheeks a while. Luckily it does blend well though, giving a nice natural look. Personally, I find that the texture of this means I would only wear it on my cheeks. The website says that you can wear it on your eyes, lips or face, but for me it's too greasy for eyes (it would just crease or slide right off, though I guess you could use it as a base) and for my lips it just seems to settle into the cracks in my lips. As if I need reminding how dry my lips always are!

WEARABILITY: Due to the fact that this product never sets completely, it does wear off during the day. I find that after a few hours the general lilac colour has faded, but the shimmer remains for quite a while, which gives a nice highlight. For me it's not too much hassle to touch up once or twice throughout the day.

OVERALL: At first I wasn't too thrilled about this, and as I mentioned before, it wouldn't be something I would pick out myself, but now I am glad I do have it! It kind of sat around for a bit after I got it, but since my skin has been drier in the winter I have been reaching for it and it makes a really nice cream blush. Having quite fair skin this looks quite natural on me and I love the dewy look it gives as well as highlighting my cheekbones.

The packaging is pretty simple, and you have to wind up the product to get it out, but one small thing that niggles me is that the name has worn off already and like I've said I've only really used it a few times recently, so it's a bit annoying that the name has almost completely faded when I haven't used it a lot.

Would I buy it again?
Yes, although I can't see myself running out! I will almost certainly look at getting some more shades though in the future...I've discovered I'm much more of a cream blush person!

Thank you for reading! Hope you enjoyed my review :D
