Makeup Look: Smokey Red & Black

Hi!

Today's post is just a quick makeup look that I was trying out the other day...I've been really into wearing red and black recently together...I even bought some red and black shoes the other day! :)

Products used:
NYX Eyeshadow Base in White
Barry M Dazzle Dust in Cherry Red 84
Barry M Dazzle Dust in Gold 96
The Natural Collection Eyeshadow in Sea Shell
Coastal Scents 88 Original Palette (Black + matte taupe shades to blend)
Stila Fibre Optics Mascara
Borjois Khol & Contour Eyeliner

I patted the matte black shade over the NYX shadow base and then blended in the inner corners with a matte skin tone/taupe shade from the Coastal Scents palette. I then blended out the crease with the red Dazzle Dust and buffed the Natural Collection eye shadow below the brow bone to blend it out.
I then just added a small amount of the gold on the inner corner on the bottom lashine.
I then just added eyeliner and mascara!

The effect is very smokey but striking with the pops of red and gold!

Thanks so much for reading!

My Holiday Makeup Essentials!

Hi!

As I'm going away with friends for a few days soon I thought I'd do a post on the makeup I'm taking - in short, the makeup I consider to be my absolute essentials!

I may also do a post on things like face & hair products too :)

I'm going camping so I'm not going to be taking a tonne of makeup because I simply won't be using it, but I am going to be taking things that can cover all bases just in case I get there and suddenly realise I can't live without something I thought I could!

So lets start with the face products first!

1)
For a primer if I need one I'll be taking my 17 Photo Flawless face primer - nice and small packaging and smooths out the skin & makes makeup last longer. This also needs using up so I thought I'd take it along.

2)
E.L.F Tinted Moisturiser - I won't be taking any foundation of any sort so I prefer something light like a tinted moisturiser and so I'll be using this if I feel my skin tone just needs evening out.

3)
In case I need any powder I'll be taking my Miss Sporty So Clear Pressed Powder as it's inexpensive and it comes with a powder puff which will do for a few days instead of a powder brush which would take up lots of space!

4)
MAC Studio Finish Concealer - this is just an emergency product in case I get any spots or anything that really bothers me!

5)
I'm just taking my trusty Vaseline just for my lips as I don't tend to use many products on my lips.
This should keep them hydrated!

6)
I'm bringing my favourite Rimmel London Match Perfection concealer to cover up any dark circles! :)

Now onto the eyes!

7)
Instead of an eye primer I'm taking my NYX Eyeshadow Base in White just to give shadow something to cling to. I doubt I'll be wearing eyeshadow at all but I may if we go out for a meal.

8)
To save space I'm bringing this very useful Accessorize Baked Eyeshadow Duo in Thalia as a neutral colours go with everything and I've got a light shade there too for highlighting!

9)
Stila Waterproof Smudge Stick Eyeliner in Peacock - one of my favourite eyeliners ever! I've talked about this at length before and it's so great and long lasting!

10)
Soap & Glory Supercat Liquid Liner - I need to use this up so I thought I'd take this along as just a basic black eyeliner.

11)
The Borjois Paris Khol & Contour Eyeliner is my favourite eyeliner for the waterlines so I thought I'd bring this too because it's so useful for an everyday look.

12)
For my mascara I'm taking my Stila Fibre Optics mascara as I'm trying to use it up and I'm very fond of this mascara!

I'm trying to keep the brushes to a minimum so I've just got 3!

All of these are from Fraulein so I've got the foundation brush and two eye shadow brushes, one for a darker colour and one for a lighter colour.

So that's it! I don't usually wear a lot of makeup on holiday so I thought I'd just stick to the essentials and also a few things that aren't totally necessary like different eye liners, but its nice to have different choices!

What are your holiday makeup essentials?

Expensive Products Worth The Money!

Hi!

My post today is all about the high end or expensive products that I think are worth the price...
There are of course expensive products that don't deserve the high price tag but every now and then something comes along which is a must-have product!

Here's a run down of my favourites!

1) MAC Studio Finish Concealer in NW20

I've mentioned this before a few times...amazing pigmentation & coverage, covers any blemishes I have within seconds and lasts well too because you get a lot of product for your money!
This is around £15 but I think it's worth it.,

2) MAC Select Cover Up Concealer

I've rediscovered this recently and remembered how much I love it!
Such high coverage for a liquid concealer and because it's fairly thin, I can use it on my under eye veins and it doesn't cake up!
Again this is £15.
The prices for MAC have gone up slightly...this used to be £14.50.... Never mind I still love it!

For some reason no matter what I do I can't seem to get this the right way round....
I hate technology.

Anyway.

3) Benefit High Beam

This is one of those famous classic products that a lot of people seem to have...and I can see why.
I don't actually have a full size of this but honestly when I run out of the many mini versions I have of this I think I might bite the bullet and get the full sized.
This is just the most beautiful pearly, pink highlight colour which adds a lovely glow to the cheekbones.

4) Stila Smudge Stick Waterproof Eyeliner

I've mentioned these a few times now and I have a review HERE if you're interested.

I got these for £14 each and they are SO worth it.
I have the colours Peacock and Bluefin and the colours are simply stunning.
And best of all, these have incredible staying power and I trust these to last all day on my lashline.
I must get some more of these at some point.

5) Urban Decay Palettes. (Naked & Book Of Shadows III)

Time for a little UD I think.
I love these palettes. Not only are the shadows great quality and beautiful colours, even though the palettes are expensive you get a lot for your money.
Often UD puts in full sized eye shadows (or nearly full sized) and they sometimes include things like brushes, primers or lip products.
These are just great and well worth paying such a high price for.

And finally...

6) Urban Decay 24/7 Glide On Eye Pencils

I have three of these (Zero, Ransom and Electric) and I've done a review HERE if you're interested.
These cost £14 but are really great.
The formula of these is so creamy and easy to blend and the colours are bright and vibrant...
I think if you're paying that kind of price you deserve a liner that is multifunctional and these are, you can use them on the waterlines, top lashline or as a base for other shadows.

PHEW.
That was a long post.
Anyway, I hope you enjoyed my post!

My Best Products For Summer!

Hi! :)
My post for you today is my best products that I think work best for the hot summer days...
Admittedly here in the UK we do not get a whole lot of hot summer days but still...when they come around its useful to have the right products ready!
I think the most important things for summer products is that they are lightweight, yet long wearing so I've compiled this little list of my favourite products :)

1) Simple Kind To Skin Sun Kissed Moisture Cream

Streaks...Orange skin...nasty smell...just some of the perils of fake tanning.
However, this is an amazing alternative!
This is a moisturiser that you use twice a day and it slowly builds up a natural tan really slowly. There are no streaks, it looks natural and not orange and it doesn't have a lasting smell!
I usually have to use this for about a week or two before I notice a difference but it is perfect for making you look like you've been sat on the beach and it works well as a moisturiser for the hotter months too, being not too heavy yet it still provides moisture.

2) Rimmel London Match Perfection Skin Tone Adapting Concealer

I really love this.
This is my second tube and I will definitely buy another one soon because mine is running out.
This is really lightweight but is really brightening too.
I use this as a touch-up product as it instantly brightens my under eyes and banishes any cakiness that can sometime form after long days.
And because it's so lightweight, your face doesn't feel all clogged up with product.

3) E.L.F Tinted Moisturiser

I've mentioned this a few times here and I still love it.
I love tinted moisturiser instead of foundation when its hot out.
This tinted moisturiser in particular gives a really pretty glow to the skin and I absolutely adore the way it evens out my skin tone without being heavy on the skin.
This allows skin to breathe and the best bit is its only £1.50!

4) Stila Smudge Stick Waterproof Eye Liner

I adore these too.
These last ALL DAY. They will cling onto your lids even through water and look simply beautiful.
They are a little pricey at £14.50 but the colours are amazing and quite unique.
They will not fade throughout the day and their beautiful colours make them a staple for me all year round, but also particularly in the hotter months.
The shades I have are Peacock and Bluefin and I've done a review of these which you can read HERE as it includes swatches too!

5) NYX Single Eyeshadow in Aloha

This is a really great shade and just light and pretty enough for summer.

It is a pink/champagne colour with lots of shimmer and it really brightens up the eye.
This is one of my favourite shadows from NYX and definitely the one I've used the most.

That's it!
Thank you for reading my post, what are your favourite products for summer?

Makeup Look: Smoked Blue & Gold Eyes

Hi!

I was playing around with some make up this morning and thought I'd show you my creation...
My favourite colour ever is blue and I love to combine it with a smoky eye and also with gold colours, so I thought I'd combine the two!

I used mainly Urban Decay shadows and liners today but with a  few exceptions.

Here are the products I used:

E.L.F Eyelid Primer
E.L.F Duo Eyeshadow Cream in Black Liquorice (I used the darker shade as a base)
NYX Jumbo Eye Pencil in Milk (Used on the inner corner near the tear duct and also dotted and blended below the brow bone)
Stila Smudge Stick Waterproof Eye Liner in Bluefin (on the top lash line)
Urban Decay 24/7 Glide On Eye Pencil in Zero (Bottom water line)
Urban Decay 24/7 Glide On Eye Pencil in Electric (smudged below the bottom lash line)
Stila Fibre Optics Mascara
Urban Decay Naked Palette

I used the colour Creep patted all across the lid and then blended it out with a fluffy brush.
I then added a small amount of Gunmetal on the centre of the lid to blend it out.
I used Sidecar on the inner part of the lid and blended.
After adding the NYX pencil below the brow bone and near the tear duct I added the colour Virgin as a highlight.
I lined my top lash line with the Stila liner in Bluefin
I used the Urban Decay pencil in Zero on the bottom waterline and then smudged the colour Electric below the lash line.
I then added a pop of gold on the very inner corner of the bottom lash line which was the colour Half Baked.
I then added 2 generous coats of the Stila mascara!

I really adore the mix of blue, black and gold together and I really like the finished look!
I ADORE the Stila liner that I used and I've done a review of it HERE with swatches if you're interested to see the colour on it's own, it's a really stunning colour!

I hope you enjoyed this look!
I'm open to any requests if you have a look you'd like me to try out :)
Thanks for reading!

*REVIEW*- Stila Smudge Stick Eyeliner (Bluefin & Peacock)

Hello! :)

I have another review for you today! This time is two of my favourite eyeliners ever! They are both the Stila Smudge Stick Waterproof Eye Liners, and the colours I have are Bluefin and Peacock.

PRICE & AVAILABILITY:
These are available from larger Boots and also online too, as well as any other places that stock Stila. They are pricey at £12-£14 depending where you get them, but these are one of the few makeup items I can justify buying at that price!

PIGMENTATION:
One of the main reasons I love these is the pigmentation. When I swatched them in Boots both times I bought these I couldn't resist once seeing how they swatched. They are both extremely pigmented and really beautiful colours.

I swatched them and then also what they looked like blended out, the top two swatches is the shade Bluefin and the bottom two are Peacock.

Bluefin:
This has a black base with dark blue shimmer and sparkles in it. I wasn't planning on buying it but when I saw it swatched I knew I needed to get it! It's such a unique colour and I love it to pieces!
Peacock:
This is a beautiful deep teal colour with plenty of shimmer. Really pigmented and it looks just beautiful on!

TEXTURE:
These go on really creamy and don't tug at the eyelid when you apply them. They glide on so easily but don't leave a harsh line as they blend really well. You can smudge them before they set because they're so creamy.

WEARABILIY:
These last really well which is another reason why I love them! You can smudge them for a bit but then once they've set they last around 12 hours really well. If you leave them ages they  can transfer slightly but that can be expected because they are so creamy and pigmented. For some reason the shade Bluefin doesn't last quite as well as peacock but they are still much better than the average liner!

OVERALL:
I LOVE these. Unique colours, creamy, blendable, last ages they are just perfect. I just wish they were cheaper, but I totally believe these are worth the price so next time if I see any that I love the colour of I might not be able to stop myself! The only other thing I'm not too keen on is the fact that these are twist up pencils, which some prefer as you don't need a sharpener but I've found these are far more delicate and break easily which isn't great when you pay that price tag!

Would I buy again?
Yes definitely!

Thank you for reading, I hope you enjoyed my review!
